    Good product, but came with issues. The unit itself, is good value for money has a good picture and is well made however, my device when used outside the picture was a white wash, the picture was so bad it rendered the unit useless. I contacted sumpple for help and after some weeks i got a reply, but by this time i had the issue resolved, it turned out the firmware needed updating. I have to say the email i received from sumpple was very helpful and would have help me resolve the issue much sooner had i received it in a reasonable amount of time.

This is one large camera, its massive and reassuringly well built, everything is in proportion from the dome lens, the arm, down to the fixing plate, it looks like something you would see in a town centre but again when it’s fixed to your house wall it seems to be in proportion. The whole thing is just very professional looking and would deter many a burglar. The camera came neatly boxed and delivered on time, the internal packaging is plentiful with cut-outs in the foam for a snug fit for the components to keep them from getting damaged in transit. It’s quite an easy installation, there are 4x fixing holes in the back plate so you just hold it in position and mark the holes, drill the holes and fit the plugs then screw it up , before you screw it to the wall though you will need to drill a 30mm hole through the wall to get the ends of the cables back inside, i’ve drilled mine directly behind the back plate so there is no cable showing on the outside, you could however drill it below if you wanted to. The only downside with this type of camera is that once you get the ends back inside what to do with them, mine come in just above the ceiling in the loft so it’s not too much of a problem but if they came through into a bedroom then they could be quite unsightly. The set up was fairly straight forwards, connect the ethernet cable and the power lead, then download the app, “sumppleipcam”, once the app is installed it gives you clear instructions to scan the qr code on the bottom of the camera, run the app and create a sumpple account and login to get a better service and information from sumpple, click the add camera button and your off, if you want to use it with the wifi, once you have set it up you can disconnect the ethernet cable (which is only about 1m long) , you can rotate the camera left or right, up and down, view from different angles, take still photos, and record video. The settings needed adjusting to get the right colour and brightness but all are straight forwards. All the controls for the camera are done from your phone, the app is really well designed, you can move the camera around by using your finger on the screen or there are specific icons which will move it automatically until you stop the camera where you want it, once you have got the camera to a position that you are happy with you can save it within the app, then you can move the camera away and go back to it automatically whenever you want, there are 10 pre-sets that you can save.

        Great device, very robust unit. You get a lot of control of the device which is nice to have. Zoom is not too smooth and motion very much depends on my signal strength and refresh. Picture quality is good, with a choice of motion detect sensitivity settings and 10 user preset positions available. Also with overlap in picture it is possible to cover 360 deg in the horizontal motion. I am using internal memory card for storing alarm pictures and videos, i found the email alarms are too frequent to keep this switched and would drive me to paranoia but i did try and it worked well, sending several pictures of any trigger event. Review of any triggers on the memory card are easy to find via the app as they are all listed in date/time order, rolling record overwrite will allow the camera to store all my pictures and videos, still to see how long i can keep records on board before it starts to overwrite old data, this will depend on memory card and frequency of triggers. Ir for day / night switches quickly when required should external lights come on, car headlights etc. Tried on wifi and wired, both operate well, obviously wired is better but this device seems to work as well on either.

    The picture is crisp the functions are faultless and trust me this is so easy to set up a child could do it. I purchased the sumpple s610 around december 2015, this i did after weeks and weeks of researching what was out there in the market for an outdoor ip, ptz camera in this category. It seemed every time i thought i had found the one i wanted after reading the reviews there was always some reason to put me off. However this all changed after i read the reviews on amazon for the s610 and my mind was completely made up. The camera has now been running perfectly in wet and windy weather for over 3 months now. The picture is crisp the functions are faultless and trust me this is so easy to set up a child could do it. This came has a pleasant surprise having previously set up cameras in the past that have been far more complex this was a real relief. There may be better out there in the field if you look long enough but you will probably be paying 10 times this price to get it, i recommend a 64gb sd card internally has it will leave longer period of timefor the camera to record data before it writes over itself in the loop recording and like previously recommended use a wired connection. I used a huacam passive adapters power over ethernet poe passive adapter injector + splitter kit cable with 20 metre data cable going directly to my router to eradicate the need for a power supply near the camera without a problem would i purchase another one if needed absolutely. I have included a couple of pictures from day and night showing the ir at night and quality picture the camera offers during the day.

    Professional quality at a mid range price. . This is a beast of a camera. Huge, built like a tank and with a sinister black glass dome the sight of this outside your house would be enough to send any villain over the fence to try his luck next door. One external ip camera i was given to review although well made and durable was virtually impossible to use due to a lack of english documentation and some very dodgy software it was supplied with. Oh yes, and it came with no power supply either. So i was a bit dubious when it came to testing this camera from sumpple but in fact i had no need to worry as in both respects this camera is fine. The sumpple external ip camera (model s610b) arrived very well presented in an attractive up market display box with the contents very well protected inside with custom insert foam padding. Inside the box aside from the camera itself was a screw in wifi antenna, uk plug power adapter and cable, ethernet cable, wall mounting bracket with screws and wall plugs, software cd, user guide. The build quality seems first rate, the camera is made from a tough and heavy duty metal alloy as is the mounting bracket, the lens is glass and from start to finish it has the feel of a professional level product. Many tech products fall down when it comes to documentation but no so here as the camera is supplied with a well printed colour user guide that is well designed and easy to read albeit rather small.
