For the rate and in spite of the drawbacks ,i assume this is a fantastic cctv camera. Execs:1) terrific graphic quality2) great night vision3) sd card support4) wonderful pricecons:one) didnt work with chrome and firefox ,only ie2) software program is okay cant do considerably with it handle wise3) motion detection is established to file for only 15 seconds ,for me this is a deal breaker as i require the camera to record only when motion is detected ,and to have it established to only 15 seconds is ridicilous,why i cant have the flexibility to established the time as i want ,the assist group didnt have an response fo this question.

This arrived well packaged in what i would describe as retail packaging. Contents include the camera itself, made of high quality heavy metal with an adjustable sun shade, ethernet cable, extremely short power cables, antenna, tweezers for inserting a memory card inside the camera, mounting screws and wall plugs, faq card and after sales card, guide for marking holes into wall and finally an instruction guide. Firstly, the guide included is not easy to follow with lots of spelling mistakes. It asks you to install an app which when used, equally had spelling mistakes within the app itself. This camera was not easy to get setup. Initial setup was fine connecting to my wifi network with ease, but then trying to access the camera from a mobile data network was a nightmare. It took a few emails to support who were excellent but i wasn’t able to solve the issue with their initial advice. I did manage to sort it myself in the end but it took me a good 2-3 hours. Once up and running, the camera picture quality is superb, even at its lower resolution.

    Robust feel and look to camera. Robust feel and look to camera. Fairly easy to install and set up the basic stuff. Not so good is1) the instruction manual. The only instructions included are for a previous version of the app to use in conjunction with the camera. Although fairly intuitive, there are no instructions for the install of the camera itself. I have now got this working so that i can log on to app from a 3g or wireless network and view the camera footage live. It also sends an alarm to my phone if movement is detected. The app does have some flaws eg all videos stored on the internal sd card (eg when movement is detected) are deleted from the card at the end of the day. There is no option to stop that happening – i checked with customer support. Also, and video that is recorded locally, on the phone cannot then be deleted from the phone. Again, that is confirmed by customer support. No idea where they are stored on the phone (not in the video / photos folder). So suggest avoid storing any videos locally. Overall an ok product, seriously let down by a few things that could easily be resolved had a bit more thought gone into the final product.

      Good imageshame about the software. Good quality image, would definitely recommend this camera for the quality of image. Ease of setup was fairly straight forward, however, the software needs a lot to be desired. No matter how much i try i cannot get the email alerts to work, i continually receivetest. An unknown errorhas anyone else managed to get the email alerts to work???.

    For help and once properly installed the camera is fantastic. Only dropped a star because the setup instructions. Tricky to set up but the seller was quick to reply to cries for help and once properly installed the camera is fantastic. Only dropped a star because the setup instructions could have been more detailed. But queries sent to the email address on front of instruction sheet brought swift and helpful answers.

      I deliberated a while over four stars or five, eventually deciding, on balance, five. It is undoubtedly a good camera, very well engineered with a solid feel to it. It was simple to set up on my phone – basically switch the camera on, install the app and run it – done job. Setting up on the pc was a different matter and far from easy. The instructions supplied are very brief, they include directions to instructional videos but these were also difficult to follow – they’d be easier if there were an audio feed with them but i suppose the different languages would be a problem. After thoroughly confusing myself i contacted their help desk via email. The response was almost immediate and the advice comprehensive but i was still unable to connect the camera. One further email brought an instant reply and an offer to sort the problem via remote access, which i accepted and watched the camera connecting in a couple of minutes. I’m still not sure i could manage it myself.

The housing and bracket are made from metal, it looks sturdy and is suitable for either commercial or domestic applications, however in my opinion due the size and appearance it probably has more of a commercial look to it. Connected to the camera is a 45cm long cable which has an ethernet rj45 connector at the end, & wps button. The rj45 connector is approx 2cm in diameter, this means you will need to drill a hole to at least this size, or find somewhere within proximity when you can route the cable such as a facia vent. The camera requires almost no assembly, all you need to connect the power supply, ethernet cable, screw in the wi-fi antenna and your ready to begin setting up the camera. The only consideration is the cable on the camera is only 45cm long, you then have an additional 1mtr of cable on the power supply, so ideally you will need access to a 3-pin socket within 1. 5mtrs of the cameras position.     Wish the sockets went inside. Though short big wire and sockets that do not fit inside it. So i mounted a box next to it for them.

    Excellent mid-priced ip camera. This is an attractive looking outdoor security camera that works over the wifi or wired through an ethernet cable. It offers a good quality image, configurable motion detection and can capture stills or record video. You can set an alarm which sends an email alert, or uploads online. It comes with apps for both ios and android as well as directly through a browser that can be used on any pc. Installation is fairly easy, it comes with wall plugs, screws, a little set of allen keys and even some tweezers (needed for the sd cards). Obviously mounting will depend on your location and wall. The uk plug supplied is not waterproof, so you will either need to extend it yourself if not near your indoor plug, or to use an outside power box. If i was to criticize, it would be that the plug could do with being longer, but this is a fairly minor issue that’s easy enough to address, or simply locate it near to a power source. Setup was a 5 minute job with no problems whatsoever, which is an absolute relief as sometimes these cameras can be quite tricky.

      Well made and well specified. Onet external ip camera i was given to review although well made and durable was virtually impossible to use due to a lack of english documentation and some very dodgy software it was supplied with. Oh yes, and it came with no power supply either. So i was a bit dubious when it came to testing this camera from ideanext but in fact i had no need to worry as in both respects this camera is first rate. The ideanext external ip camera (model ukc1906w) arrived very well presented in an attractive up market display box with the contents very well protected inside with custom insert foam padding. Inside the box aside from the camera itself was a screw in wifi antenna, uk plug power adapter and cable, ethernet cable, wall mounting bracket with screws and wall plugs, tweezers, user guide. The build quality seems first rate, the camera is made from a lightweight but heavy duty aluminium alloy as it the mounting bracket, the lens is glass and from start to finish it has the feel of a professional level product. Many tech products fall down when it comes to documentation but no so here as the camera is supplied with a well printed colour user guide that is well designed and easy to read and clearly written by a native english speaker. I reproduce the user guide in full at the end of my unboxing video to help prospective buyers. The camera is designed for outdoor use only and is waterproof to ip66 levels – dust proof and proof against rain and weather bur for for water immersion.
