Review and Buying Guide Fujifilm XQ2 Digital Camera

Good ‘enthusiast’ pocket camera. Wonderful tiny camera – fuji ‘x-series’ sophistication, characteristics and operation. But very small and genuinely pocketable (suits easily in my jeans pocket). It usually takes snapshots promptly and very easily, no fuss – but plenty of handbook management and ‘enthusiast’ functions when desired. It would make an perfect companion to my even bigger cameras – it really is smaller, mild and unobtrusive, and i can have it anywhere. I selected this around the lately-released canon g9x. The canon seems great on paper – marginally more compact, significantly even larger sensor (must be better in very low-light), 20mp resolution, created-in nd filter, and so forth. But i was place off by its significant reliance on touchscreen operation, a bit sub-par speed of procedure vs what i am used to, deficiency of in-camera panorama, only 28mm equal extensive angle. And the £400 selling price at release. So i bought the xq2 rather.

Fuji’s promising start (as a second chance). This present went down very well. It replaced its predecessor – which my wife loved – went berserk and failed to live up to my expectations of this excellent marque. As a reverent fuji fan, i was deeply embarrassed but have tried again. My own fujis (yes, plural) are brilliant.

Great “enthusiast” pocket camera. Great little camera – fuji “x-series” sophistication, features and functionality. But tiny and truly pocketable (fits easily in my jeans pocket). It takes snapshots quickly and easily, no fuss – but plenty of manual control and “enthusiast” features when needed. It makes an ideal companion to my bigger cameras – it’s small, light and unobtrusive, and i can carry it anywhere. I chose this over the recently-released canon g9x. The canon looks great on paper – slightly smaller, much bigger sensor (should be better in low-light), 20mp resolution, built-in nd filter, etc. But i was put off by its heavy reliance on touchscreen operation, slightly sub-par speed of operation vs what i’m used to, lack of in-camera panorama, only 28mm equivalent wide angle. And the £400 price at release. So i bought the xq2 instead.
