Audio is clear and does get recorded by my dvr. I have used the foscam app which is okay but prefer the synology app to access the cameras. I didn’t appreciate foscam aiming to steer you to their own cloud services. Offer the option yes but i had to do more manual digging around than i would like to find the actual ip address and port number rather than the myfoscam stuff. Still a great camera just be aware you don’t have to use foscam cloud services.

What i don’t like:my requirement was that there be recording option on the device (because sound recording works easily only on the device). This camera accepts micro sd card. However, what the documentation misses out is that the card can be only up to 32gb capacity. If that’s ok for you, this would be a 4.

      Works well, but am a little frustrated as i am unable to access the sd card remotely. Apart from that, it is a very nice camera which can be configured as you want although i have not been able to change the frame rate from 30 frames per second even after a firmware update ??. And i have been unable to set a default ‘home’ for when the camera starts up. So its a case of tweaking the camera on its mount so that when it switches on it is pointing in the correct direction – although the zoom cannot be set.

    I think the hardware is really good. I think the hardware is really good. The pan and zoom is great, as is the resolution. I’ve got placed in an attic for rodent watch (had some issues this year and when to know when they return). I’m not enamoured by the software however. The documentation is poor and inconsistent with the interface. But there are many different ways of using it, web browser directly to the camera (it also includes a live feed), software on the pc, software on the tablet / phone. It sensitive enough that when some errand moth does a fly past in the attic it captures the photos / movies. Marked it down from a 5 simply because i think the software could be more polished.

      Only had this a few days & so far so good. This is the first ip camera i’ve bought for a few years & it was so much easier than i remember setting these up in the past. You do need to have some basic knowledge of ‘port forwarding’ if you want to watch from outside your own network/home. I know that sounds a little like hard work & it can be if you don’t know what you are doing but all ip cameras require this, not just foscam. I was almost caught out by ‘port forwarding’ myself. Remember to use the foscam cloud service, you need to also port forward the p2p port: 59950 on your router. It almost caught me outit’s a great camera – might get another in a few weeks.

    This was my first time buying one, on recommendation i got this. I thought reading previous reviews i would have issues accessing it remotely, but didn’t. I already had a scan app on my iphone, and all that was required was to scan the box, which downloads the foscam app, then scan the bottom of the camera itself, which links it to the app. Adding my own userid and password set it up, and all done in around 5-10 minutes. To view on the app you don’t need any of the port forwarding etc mentioned by other reviews, that is just to view via web. I haven’t managed to get the sound to work yet outside my own network, and moving the camera around is a lot slower and more delayed outside as well. Setting up the movement snapshot emails hasn’t worked either yet, and apparently is a known issue waiting for a fix. However, overall, i am very impressed with the excellent picture quality, especially night vision,, which even though black and white is really clear.

    Good camera and great support. . Bought this from foscam uk and was delivered by amazon. The camera is good quality and has good mounting options. Set up is pretty easy but i needed some help with remote access to the camera so i called foscam support and spoke to albert who was really helpful in setting up the remote access. There are a few foscam apps but i found the foscam viewer to have the best functionality. All in all i’m very pleased with the camera.
