        Camera very good set it up first connected to pc. Camera very goodset it up first connected to pc, then wifi, then web enabled. Did not use special software for phone as just googled the ip address. Only reason not 5 star is cables are a bit messy. (you would have to drill a largish hole (say 2cm) to get cable into house. Night camera distance very impressive.

    Nice piece of kit, took me a little while to work it out, it doesn’t fit easily onto a back wall but goes easily onto a side wall. Luckily i was able to feed the cable through a top window so no drilling required (apart from the fixing screws). The wi-fi set up was straightforward enough once i translated the chinese english into english though i am unable to record onto disk for some reason, probably a simple answer but i don’t need it anyway. The quality isn’t great but good enough to recognize what’s in the garden, overall a good product and value for money.

    Foscam f1890w outdoor wi-fi ip camera. I have purchased three of these to protect my property. I actually use them with a free software called “vitamin d”, so that i can set the camera’s to record movement within set parameters. The camera’s have been worth every penny i paid. They have very good picture quality, even at night, which was surprising for the price range. A couple of things, which i think i should mention. Although the product is good and i am pleased with them, i found the initial set up a little frustrating. However, the kit that you get does not support attaching the camera to brick work. You will need to purchase some proper brick screws and rawl plugs to ensure that you can fix them properly to your outdoor wall without them falling out a few weeks later.

      Ok but needs different lens and stronger wall mount. . The picture quality, configurability and features of this camera are pretty good for the price. Sadly, it is let down by a very poor quality bracket and an unremovable cable that has an ethernet port hanging off it which means you need to drill a significant hole just to get the cable through. The screw that goes from the bracket to the camera is brittle, in fact mine snapped as i was tightening it up. I still had half the thread left so was able to still mount the camera but it was almost non-usable. I suspect the camera will move as soon as the wind gets up. The other downside is the lens that comes with this camera (6mm) has too long and narrow a view. 1mm lens to be of use in my application (overlooking a garden) in order to have a wider field of view however the cost of the lenses (if you can find them) are almost the same price as the camera.

        Good value and easy to install. Have an indoor foscam already and quite please with the image quality. Got this for the front lawn area. The pivot mount is a bit tricky to position the camera. Once positioned it stayed there. It came loose once and had to reposition it. Image quality is not the best but for me the main purpose is to discourage and opportunistic fellow from doing anything funny with my property.

    Great camera – quite a narrow field of view though. Simple to set up, i have ordered new lenses to increase the field of view. Range of the ir leds is huge, the whole garden is flooded with ir light. One camera covers the driveway – this messes with the reversing camera on my car as the ir leds dazzle the camera – not the end of the world, but i am going to move the camera to fix the issue. Main problems:the bracket is very poor, difficult to fix the camera in the desired position. The cable has an ethernet port in it and so if feeding it through a wall you need a hole almost an inch in diameter to get it through.

The wireless was simple to setup, and worked flawlessly. Webcam xp was able to pick them up (on the generic foscam profile) and stream without any issues at all. Considering the price, i was geared up to give a 5 star review, until 2 out of 5 broke. The cheap die cast metal brackets that hold these things up both broke during a high (but not exactly gale force) wind. Meaning 2 cameras are now heavily cable tied to an elaborate scaffolding bodge job :dif you want a low price, feature rich ip cam, i would highly recommend these, providing you aren’t putting them somewhere susceptible to high winds or heavy rain. The slightly odd power/ethernet plug might be a little difficult to water-proof if you need a long run of wire outside the property, but some out-door patresses could easily sort this.
