I acquired this box for my son. The kit arrived with a scart connector. Regrettably my television set does not have a scart plug. Excellent bird box, pretty very well manufactured and strong. Have just ordered a next a person. The very first 1 went up in june very last 12 months and so was far too late for nesting but have experienced visitations from earwigs, a mouse.And a slug and then discovered that a blue tit has been living in there above the winter season interval. Not in the box by itself but in the ‘attic part’ next to the camera for heat. The small blighter at some point attacked the camera, untwisted the lens and threw it out of the box. We have now eradicated the ‘attic section’ and, immediately after locating the lens ultimately on the floor, returned it and tightened it up significantly tighter, so with any luck , the tit will not be able to unscrew it. All this we were being capable to look at from the camera, right until of training course the lens was removed. We have presently removed the ‘attic section’ in the new box, i hope it will not make any distinction to the structure and stability of the box, at least i will not feel it will.

We have experienced a bird box with black/white camera ahead of and it has given us fantastic pleasure. Having now acquired a single with colour and audio we are on the lookout forward to spring when the blue tits start off setting up their nest and be ready to watch their progress till the youthful birds fledge.

    I bought this as a present for my husband. This is a really sturdy nest box, and it arrived within the timeline specified (before my husband’s birthday). Word of warning when you connect it up to the tv- the image looks black and white. There just isn’t a massive amount of light inside the box so it tones the colours down. Hopefully they will come soon.

    This product is advertised as having a colour camera but. This product is advertised as having a colour camera but in fact it is black and white. It arrived with no instructions whatsoever so we had to fuss about phoning and requesting a set of instructions. When they were emailed over they were inadequate.

        Okay except for large hole with thin plastic cover. Good in every way except that the nestbox section has a large hole – presumably for camera light – on the right hand side side, covered with a thin plastic slider cover which is held on by one screw. A squirrel could eat through that easily, and the hole is big enough for the squirrel or any rodent to get through. There is no explanation of this hole or plastic cover in the accompanying leaflet. If the hole is strictly necessary for camera light, then it could have been covered with e. Glass in a frame, or thick perspex in a frame. I have fixed the plastic cover down with tacks, in the hope that the squirrel’s teeth now cannot get a grip around the cover’s edges. The box is otherwise squirrel-proof and woodpecker-proof as far as i can see. The camera is working fine so far, although it does frequently switch to infra red in daytime unless there is strong light.

    Really good quality timber and clear instructions. Looks great in the garden and the birds are already showing an interest after only being up a fortnight. Clear camera picture and audio. If it continues to work as well if and when it gets some inhabitants, we will be thrilled. Bought as present for my partner, he tells me that the cable is more than long enough for most gardens.

I didn’t want to return the box because it is so beautifully made. I also didn’t want to order a wireless camera kit because most of the reviews implied that the camera’s aren’t great due to interference from other electrical items around the home. I ordered a usb video capture device from amazon and successfully managed to connect the nest box camera directly to my computer, which seems a little more versatile than the scart connector.
