Wonderful camera, exceptional shots for a point and shoot. Great camera ,fantastic images for a point and shoot purchased to replace sx700 and am genuinely content.

Wonderful compact, disgrace it lacks raw photo structure. This is not a poor minimal camera for the dollars. Lower mild general performance is not great but then the comparison i am building is probably not a fair just one, you also have a fantastic option of guide and semi automobile modes like aperture and shutter precedence both of those of which are important if you want to go outside of the snap pictures that any camera cellular phone can do sufficiently. I am dissapointed at the absence of uncooked format as i will not like applying jpeg consequently the reduction of a person star and it is really no backup for a dslr, the g3x is considerably much better for that but it is too large for your pocket and much more of an usually go away in the vehicle variety of camera (some thing you are unable to do with five figures worthy of of dslr equipment). You do not get a manual but you can download the pdf onto your smart phone or tablet and you you should not get an sd card but then you by no means do. The battery charger that i recieved experienced a fold out us model connector but came with a figure eight electricity twine somewhat than a us / british isles adaper. If i did not come about to have either a us / british isles or shaver adapter i would not have been in a position to charge the battery.

    Good quality photos and video from this camera which has a 30x optical zoom. My only criticism is the videos can be very grainy.

      Overall it is a great point and shoot travel camera. I have owned this camera for a while now, so i feel qualified to review it. Overall it is a great point and shoot travel camera. The quality of the pics is never going to be as good as a decent slr with a ranges of lens. On the other hand it is very portable and can produce excellent a4 size prints. The zoom range is amazing although the pic degrades at maximum zoom. I bought a leather canon powershot case to carry it. No belt loop on the case, but it houses the camera well. I am happy with this purchase.

    Impressive performance in a pocket. First use on a trip to qatar for 2+ weeks in january/february 2016 where even in the winter shade it’s dazzling bright – so much so that it’s not really possible to see the screen properly. I longed for a proper viewfinder, but in such a compact package with great zoom, it’s probably unreasonable to expect it. So i just left it on fully automatic, and let the camera do all the work. Almost point (blind) and shoot. I’m very satisfied with the results, even with snatched snapshots and video taken through moving car windows (nobody’s on foot here) where you might expect the auto-focus to be fooled occasionally. Indoors in low light, eg museums and at home, it’s coped very well too. It’s a bit thirsty on battery power, compared to my canon ixus, but that’s not surprising given the extra work it’s doing, and the indicator can mislead by flashing red during a video shoot, only to return to a full indication shortly afterwards. You probably wouldn’t want to be without multiple spare batteries, at least when you know you’re unlikely to be back for a while, and the charger takes quite a long time.

    I bought this as an upgrade to my canon s95 and also to provide me with some zoom capability if i needed it. Am slightly disappointed as at the far end of the zoom i found it near impossible ( if not impossible) to avoid camera shake even with the image stabilization. Was trying to keep gear to a minimum but think need a tripod for best results. I was stupid to think a point and shoot would give me results any where near my dslr +zoom but for what it is “a point and shoot” its okay.
